Commercial and Industrial Permits

The County of Ventura zoning map includes designated commercial and industrial areas in the unincorporated areas of the County. The purpose of the commercial zone is to provide areas for a wide range of commercial retail and business uses, including stores, shops, and offices supplying commodities or performing services for the surrounding community. The purpose of the industrial zone is to provide suitable areas of development for a broad range of general manufacturing, processing, and fabrication activities while providing appropriate safeguards for adjoining industrial sites, nearby nonindustrial properties, and the surrounding community.

If your project includes any of the above mentioned uses, please view the Commercial and Industrial application packet below. To make the process easier, the application can be electronically filled out and saved. Please contact Planning Counter Staff at (805) 654-2488 or via email at Plan.Counter@ventura.org before submitting your application materials.

If you currently have a permit in process, please contact your assigned Case Planner for information regarding the status.

For general zoning and planning questions, customers can also schedule a 15-minute appointment with Planning staff between 2:00 PM and 3:00 PM, Monday through Friday, using the scheduling portal.
